For those very passionate fashionistas, and aficionados alike, the very mention of designer Charlie Le Mindu almost immediately forwards one’s attention to Lady Gaga.  In an ideal world, it would be the other way around, because Gaga is practically a creative neophyte when placed alongside Le Mindu.  For those of you unfamiliar with Le Mindu, he is arguably the foremost pioneer ‘Haute-Coiffure’ designer — it’s safe to say that his creative sculptural hair designs are unparalleled in the fashion and beauty industries.  Moreover, he is an indelible voice amongst a new wave of conceptual designers that promise the world something bold in the way of ingenuity, imagination and craftsmanship.

DEAR DAVID BOWIE…

Dear David Bowie,

it’s been eight years now since you released Reality, your last album to date. Since then, many reissues of your previous legendary albums such as Space Oddity, Aladdin Sane, Young Americans and many more were released. Last year, the deluxe edition of my favorite album of yours, Station To Station, was released in a beautiful package. But, even if I am glad to own a remastered version of it, I feel like I need to hear some real new songs composed from your creative brain. And I am sure that I am absolutely not the only one waiting for a brand new album from you. A new album doesn’t mean a new world tour (although I would love to see you at least once in my life on stage). Just a new album, your last, an incredible, amazing record. A new album to show to the world that you were, are and will always be The Man Who Sold The World, with a fabulous sense of fashion, always searching for innovative ideas to bring music on another level, always pushing boundaries not only culturally but also for your love of the arts. Then, I promise I will leave you alone with your wife Iman and your young daughter. I promise you I will support you to finally retire. But first, a new album please…

Because she is back with her brand new and innovative multimedia project, called Biophilia, I had to write something about her: Björk. Despite a brief appearance in the film Prêt-à-porter, the appearance of the Icelandic singer evokes the opposite of ready-to-wear. With her videos, books, photographs and album covers, she fully deploys her fairy sense of wandering.
