Photos and text by Sophie Srej

In the middle of March this year after the fashion weeks, I finally got my well-deserved holiday and I traveled to South Africa- Cape Town. My boyfriend had already waited for me, I was very happy! It was like a dream, we had ocean view in the house, I heard the ocean, I smelled the ocean, it was sunny, warm and exciting! I had been to national parks, saw beautiful views, beautiful places, wonderful sunsets, great winetastings around the Cape Town vineyards, amazing food and I could continue! I saw always nice things but the truth is… ‘very surprising’ not everyone’s life is as blessed as my life. How I started…02 - Alexander McQueen

Lee Alexander McQueen is one of the most influential British Fashion designers. He is famous for his tendency to oscillate between contrasting elements: darkness and lightness, trouble and optimism, and fragility and strength. He worked as head designer at Givenchy from 1996 to 2001 and launched his own label under his name Alexander McQueen.

McQueen was a struggling teenager who couldn’t socialize with his classmates. He eventually quit school at the age of sixteen with one qualification in art. That same year, London’s Savile Row was suffering from a shortage of apprentices. Serendipitously McQueen’s mother saw a television news report on the situation, and persuaded him to apply.

by Vanessa Cubillo and Laurent Altier

She sings as if she comes from a simpler time, where music is listened to on record players and jukeboxes. She would most likely be found singing in a cocktail lounge, pouring her heart out as the crowd listened, drink in one hand, cigarette in the other. Lana Del Rey is 60′s personified with her long lashes, pouty lips, and soulfully melodic voice. So now Del Rey is bringing her 60′s style to the music world of today.
